Pala: The Youth Congress activists raised slogans against Government Chief Whip PC George and burned his effigy at Erattupetta in Kottayam district on Friday and then blocked his way.

Following this, Youth Front activists came to the place and entered into a quarrel with the activists of Youth Congress. George also staged a sit-in protest against blocking his way.

George later told media persons that those who blocked his way were Congress (A Group) activists. He also came down heavily against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that those who shout slogans for Chandy were behind the blocking and that Chandy should not try to frighten him.
