World Chess, Chennai: Anand loses 9th game; Carlsen in lead

Needing at least two wins in the last four games of the World Chess Championship, defending champion Viswanathan Anand lost 9th game against challenger Magnus Carlsen in Chennai on Thursday.

A blunder in the 28th move by Viswanathan Anand gave the advantage to Magnus Carlsen, who won with black pieces again.Carlsen now leads Anand 6-3 and needs half-a-point from the next three games to clinch the title.
