Will contest in Assembly election if BJP asks: V. Muraleedharan

Thrissur: Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs V. Muraleedharan on Saturday said that he would contest the Assembly election if the BJP asks.

He added that the BJP will field prominent personalities in the election depending on win probability. V. Muraleedharan was speaking to the media after attending a BJP leaders meeting here.

The meeting decided to continue the Vijaya Yathra led by BJP Kerala state president K. Surendran.

Meanwhile, V. Muraleedharan alleged that there were efforts to reach an understanding between Congress and CPI (M) to defeat BJP in 20 seats.

The Union Minister said that discussions regarding BJP’s Assembly poll candidates are in the final phase. He added that candidates are likely to be announced within one week.
