Thirssur: A special vigilance court in Thrissur on Monday ordered quick verification against Congress leader and former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy on a complaint by a BJP activist alleging irregularities in appointments to Palakkad Government Medical College.

Former tourism minister A P Anil Kumar will also face a probe by the inquiry commission and special judge (vigilance) in the case. The complainant, P Rajeevan, a BJP activist, alleged that several appointments were made violating guidelines. The medical college was set up under the Scheduled Caste department.
