Kochi/Mangalore: The Kerala government has intensified the search for Sanu Mohan in Karnataka. Sanu is father of Vaiga (13) who was found dead in the Muttar river in Kalamassery a few days back. The search is mainly concentrated at Kollur Mookambika and Mangaluru.
Police obtained information that Sanu had stayed at a lodge in Mookambika for six days. According to the employees of the lodge, Sanu stayed here from April 10 to 16. His behavior had not raised any suspicion. He told the lodge authorities that the rent would be paid via card and they believed him. The employees also said that he visited the Mookambika temple on all days.
On April 16, Sanu asked for a taxi to take him to the airport at 2 pm. The hotel staff arranged. However, Sanu who went out at 10 am in the morning on the day didn’t return. Though the hotel employees tried to contact him on phone, it was switched off. When the room was opened using duplicate key, his belongings were missing confirming his escape.
The hotel manager Ajay, a Malayalee, contacted one of his friend in Kerala, in search of Sanu using the address he had furnished while availing room. Thus it came to light that the person who escaped without paying the rent for the room was the same Sanu Mohan who was wanted in connection with Vaiga’s murder.
State police chief Loknath Behra has contacted other states for help to search Sanu. A lookout notice also has been issued in other states for him.
