Thiruvananthapuram: The registration for second phase of COVID vaccination in the state will commence from March 1 onwards, the health department informed. The registration is allowed for all citizens aged above 60 years and those aged between 45 and 59 years with comorbidities.
According to the guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health, vaccination facility is available in various government hospitals and selected private hospitals in the state.
Vaccination is given for free in government hospitals. At present, the public can directly register for vaccination. The facility to register at COVID vaccination centre will be notified later.
How to register?
People can register through COWIN portal (https://www.cowin.gov.in) and Arogya Sethu app. The basic information in a photo ID card of the user should be entered while registering. OTP verification is done to check if mobile number is accurate.
Booking should be made according to the availability of slots after checking list of vaccination centres and dates. After registration, an account will be created for the user. A person can register upto four beneficiaries using a mobile number. But the ID card number of each beneficiary should be different.
Until the vaccination is performed, registration and appointment details can be edited. If the beneficiary is aged between 45 and 59 years, they should confirm if they have any comorbidities.
Once registration is completed, they will receive a registration slip or token which can be downloaded. A confirmation SMS will be received on the registered mobile number.
Details of open slots will be available in the COWIN website. Users can choose the slots according to their convenience. When the first dose is booked, the date for second dose will be provided automatically.
Aadhaar card or any photo ID card should be carried while going to vaccination centre. Those aged between 45-59 years should submit a comorbidity certificate signed by a registered medical practitioner.
