SRINAGAR: Hizbul Mujahideen senior commander Farooq Ahmed is among the terrorists killed by the army at Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The army have confirmed his death. Reports said the fight is still going on.The army has killed eight terrorists so far. The army inflicted severe damages on the terrorists in the encounter that started yesterday. Two soldiers died in the encounter. Lance Naik Pradeep Nain and Havildar Rajkumar were martyred in the encounter.Based on specific information about the presence of terrorists in two different places in the district, the army started a search in the area. It is reported that the terrorists opened fire on the soldiers who came for security inspection in the area last afternoon. The army initially reported that four terrorists were killed in the encounter. However, the army later clarified that more terrorists were killed. It is suspected that there are more terrorists in the area. More troops have also reached the spot. The bodies of the terrorists were recovered during the search conducted using drones.
As the army intensified its operations, the strength of terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir decreased. However, recently terrorists are trying to create trouble. Several clashes were reported in various districts. With this, the army is on high alert.
