The trial of deposed Egyptian President Mohd. Morsi has been postponed for another two months. Appearing before the trial court at the Police Academy in Cairo, the ousted President refused to recognise the authority of court. He insisted that the trial is illegitimate. Mr. Morsi even refused to recognise Salim-al-Awaa as his defending lawyer.
The ousted Egyptian President is being shifted to Tora Prison in Cairo alongwith seven other defendants. A small number of pro-Morsi protestors raised slogans against his detention and trial amid tight security arrangement by the Egyptian Government.
Mr. Morsi is facing charges for inciting the violence and killing of protestors outside the Presidential Palace on December 23 last year. This is the first time Mr. Morsi appeared before the court since his ouster by the military on July 3rd this year.
