Newdelhi: The Mumbai Police has arrested one more person in connection with the photo journalist gang-rape case. With this, police have managed to nab four out of five accused in this case.
Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan assured journalists that he will take up the issue of the safety of women in the state with Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. Interacting with a group of women scribes representing the print and electronic media, at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai yesterday, the Governor said he will also take up the issue of enhancing the safety of women in local trains with the Railway Minister.
Meanwhile, Press Council of India Chairman Justice Markandey Katju met Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil and Mumbai Police commissioner Satyapal Singh last evening. The Press Council has appointed Rajeev Sabade to inquire into the gangrape incident
