Tennis: Murray, Ferrer out of Qatar Open

Top seeds, Briton Andy Murray and Spaniard David Ferrer have made a shock exit from the Qatar Open Tennis tournament. In the Men’s Singles second round, third seed Andy Murray led by a set and 3-0, and lost to World number 40 Florian Mayer of Germany, 6-3, 4-6, 2-6, due to injury. The tournament’s second seed, Spain’s David Ferrer was stunned by German Daniel Brands, 6-4, 7-5.

The only seeded player left in the fray now is world number one Rafael Nadal of Spain. Nadal defeated Germany’s Tobias Kamke 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in his Singles round 2 match.
