Tender coconut seller drives ambulance leaving 4 injured in Kottayam

Kottayam: Four persons were injured after an ambulance lost control and collided with vehicles at Kattachira in Kottayam here on Friday. The accident occurred when a tender coconut seller got behind the wheels when the driver was having a drink.

The ambulance lost control and collided with cars on the road. The condition of the injured is not serious.

The incident took place on Ettumanoor-Pala Road around 4 pm on Friday. An ambulance from the Pala General Hospital was involved in the accident. The ambulance driver had stopped the vehicle on the side of the road to have a tender coconut drink from a roadside shop. At this point, the vendor got into the ambulance and drove away. According to reports, there was no patient inside the ambulance.

Ettumanoor police have booked the tender coconut vendor for reckless driving.
