PALAKKAD: A cheating case has been registered against actors Baburaj and his wife Vani Vishwanath. Riyas, a native of Thiruvilwamala filed a complaint with the Ottapalam police alleging that Rs 3.14 crore was swindled in connection with the production of a film.

They accepted money for the making of the film Koodasha. The actors Baburaj and Vani Viswanath promised to give the money and the profit after the release of the film but this was not followed, alleged Riyas.

The film which had Baburaj in the lead role released in 2018. Baburaj played the character of a goonda Kallookkaran Joy. The film was directed by Dinu Thomas.
