Thiruvananthapuram: Swami Gangeshananda has come out with claims that he is innocent in the bobbitisation case. He also claimed that all those who accuse him of being a rapist and a blade mafia member can never provide any proof to validate these accusations. He said that the involvement of DGP B Sandhya in the conspiracy to file the case against him must be investigated. He also alleged that everything happened with her knowledge.
Gangeshananda questioned the motive behind such an act. He said that the Innova car worth Rs 24 lakh that he was using was given to him by the woman’s family.
The Crime Branch (CB) has unearthed the role of the complainant and her boyfriend Ayappadas. According to the new version of the case, the duo conspired against Gangeshananda. In this regard, the CB has sought legal advice to name the duo as accused in the case.
The incident happened in the year 2017. The woman said she acted in self-defence when Gangeshananda tried to sexually assault her. This was stated to the Pettah police in her first complaint. Later she changed her stand and gave a statement favouring Gangeshananda. A probe was conducted on various aspects and the latest findings are part of it.
Reportedly, the woman and her boyfriend had decided to live together. Gangeshananda influenced the woman’s family. The woman and her boyfriend thought Gangeshananda would be a hindrance to their relationship. To avert this, the duo met at Varkala and Kollam to conspire against Gangeshananda. It is learnt that before committing the act, both watched visuals of genital mutilation on the internet.
The present revelation by CB is based on scientific evidence and further probe on the case. The legal advice to name the duo in the accused list is awaited. Once the nod is received, further procedures will be carried out.
