‘Sun that lost its sheen’; Anvar comes down heavily on Chief Minister, exits LDF, will not step down as MLA

MALAPPURAM: Left Independent MLA PV Anvar on Thursday came down heavily on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan by calling him ‘the sun that has lost its sheen’. He also severed his ties with the Left Front after raising serious allegations against those close to the Chief Minister, including his family members. He, however, will not resign as the MLA. He said that he would remain neutral by not inclining towards either the Left or the Right. Anvar will announce his future plans on Sunday in Nilambur.

“The Chief Minister’s graph has plummeted from 100 to zero. Communists have extreme hatred towards the Chief Minister. He is not fit for the Home Minister post. Illegal activities such as gold smuggling took place with the knowledge of the Chief Minister,” Anvar said.

Anvar also intensified his allegations against the CM’s Political Secretary P Sasi and ADGP MR Ajith Kumar in the gold smuggling. He referred to P Sasi as a “wild thief”.

“The Chief Minister is raising his family. He sees only his son-in-law Riyas. If things continue this way, Pinarayi would be the last communist Chief Minister,” Anvar said.

Anvar did not rule out the possibility of forming a new party. He praised the Gandhi family, indicating a lean towards UDF. He also mentioned his father’s relationship with Rajiv Gandhi.

He also shared details of his meeting with the Chief Minister. He displayed video conversations of two carriers to expose police involvement in Karipur gold smuggling.

“The CM cheated me. It was a heinous deceit. He tried to intimidate me by framing me as the culprit. He said that the police would arrest Anvar. Let them come and arrest me. The Governor did not send the letter to conduct an investigation against me. However, I won’t get scared by such tricks. If I bow down in front of anyone on this earth, it will only be in front of God. The statement that I am glorifying smugglers caused damage to my reputation. The Chief Minister attempted to portray me as a criminal,” Anvar said.

“I have been questioning the police’s unilateral and communal stance for a long time. I have feelings against the suppression of comrades and the saffronization of the police,” Anvar said.

Even Govindan is unable to say anything

  • Kodiyeri’s funeral was conducted much earlier so that the Chief Minister and his family could travel to Europe. The funeral procession was cancelled.
  • Threatened everyone in the name of the party. One cannot speak against anyone.
  • If this is the state of Party State Secretary MV Govindan, then what about others?
  • Everyone is supposed to remain as slaves. This is not the Communist Party.
  • Pinarayi is being led by mischief makers.
  • The Chief Minister only wants P Sasi and Ajith Kumar. I believe the son-in-law is behind this
  • The party system shouldn’t be destroyed for one person. The party should not support this
  • Ajith Kumar may have been given instructions to act in such a way that can help the BJP win in Thrissur. The truth regarding this should come out
