Sidharthan’s death: Dean, assistant warden suspended as VC finds explanations unsatisfactory

Kalpetta: Vice-Chancellor of Veterinary and Animal Sciences College on Tuesday suspended Dean M K Narayanan and Assistant Warden R. Kanthanathan from their duties in connection with the death of a student at the campus. The move comes as the VC found the explanations given by the duo unsatisfactory.

Earlier today, justifying his action, M.K Narayanan gave an explanation that there were no lapses on the part of the administration and that intervention was made at the right time. He noted that he is not the person who resides on campus and supervises things. Narayanan claimed that the post of the resident tutor is lying vacant. He also added that the intervention was made as soon as the information was received.

Similarly, the assistant warden replied that he was not there at the time of the incident and that he sought details via phone as soon as he heard about the episode.

Earlier, Minister J Chinchu Rani, while commenting on the death stated that the duo did not execute their duties with justice and they should be suspended.
