Thiruvananthapuram: Surabhi, the mother of Dr. Sreekutty, maintains her daughter’s innocence in the case involving the death of a scooter passenger in Kollam.She claimed that Ajmal, the first accused, had falsely implicated her daughter and alleged that her ex-husband may be behind the incident.
“Her ex-husband befriended her saying he is a horse-riding instructor and a dupe artist in serials. I saw in the news that Ajmal claimed to be a serial actor and dancer. My daughter has never mentioned anything about Ajmal. I don’t understand what happened in the last two months. My daughter is innocent,” Surabhi said.”After the incident, Sreekutty called me to say she would never do something like this. She has always been dedicated to caring for patients in the hospital,” she added.Surabhi also dismissed the claim that her daughter has been living in a rented house in Kollam and drinking alcohol.”The hospital has provided a good accommodation for my daughter. I visit her every month, sometimes bringing the child along. Sreekutty was here two months ago for the child’s birthday,” she added.She further alleged that her daughter’s gold ornaments had gone missing and that two of Sreekutty’s bikes were reportedly taken by Ajmal.
“I have never met Ajmal, and I believe her ex-husband should be questioned about this incident. The truth must come out. Ajmal might have given her alcohol; no one drinks in our family,” Surabhi added.
