PALAKKAD: The dissatisfaction over candidate selection in Palakkad continues as former youth congress state secretary A K Shanib tendered his resignation on Saturday. Shanib has also expressed his willingness to join CPM following the footsteps of P Sarin.

A K SHANIB:

“The Palakkad by-election came as a part of the agreement between RSS and the Congress party. In the coming elections, congress will win Aranmula with RSS help. I have decided to switch parties and will work for the victory of Dr P Sarin.

The Congress is completely ignoring the leaders of a certain community in Palakkad. Shafi likes to portray himself as the leader of his community and won’t allow anyone else to climb to the top spot. If expressed dissent, Shafi will assign the rest of the work to his ‘fans association’, as they will continue a slander fest against the dissenting member on social media.

Youth Congress changed the election method for Shafi Parambil. He started to wield serious power inside Congress only after Oommen Chandy’s health deteriorated. Oommen Chandy informed Shafi Parambil that Ramesh Chennithala should be made the leader of the opposition. Shafi overturned the veteran leader’s opinion and stood with VD Satheesan.

VD Satheesan is kowtowing to RSS leaders to help him become the next chief minister of Kerala. I am not leaving the party for any personal gain. After Oommen Chandy sir’s demise, the party is on a downfall and there is no forum to register our complaint. A political betrayal is ongoing within the Congress party.”
