Sexual harassment case; Court summons Brij Bhushan to appear on 18th

NEW DELHI: Court summons Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the sexual harassment case. The court has asked BJP MP and Indian Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to appear on July 18. Assistant Secretary of the Wrestling Federation of India, Vinod Tomar, should also be present, the Delhi Avenue court said. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal issued the summons. The court also said that there is clear evidence to take action against the accused.

On April 21, seven wrestlers, including a minor girl, filed a sexual harassment complaint against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh with the Delhi Police. However, the wrestlers later approached the Supreme Court, alleging that the police did not register an FIR. Following this, the police registered two FIRs on April 28. The complaint filed by the minor girl and her father against Brijbhushan was later withdrawn.

However, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh completely rejected the complaints raised against him. Many Olympic and Asian Games medal winners have appeared against Brij Bhushan. The Delhi Police has registered a case against Brij Bhushan under Sections 354, 354A and 354D of the Indian Penal Code.
