Rameshwaram cafe blast: Main suspect arrested from Karnataka’s Ballari

BENGALURU: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly taken the main accused in the Rameshwaram cafe blast case into custody. A national media report quoting the NIA that the accused Shabbir was taken into custody from Karnataka’s Ballari district.

On March 1, an IED explosion took place at Bengaluru’s famous Rameshwaran café in the Whitefield area. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3. The blast took place in the cafe during the busy afternoon hours and left ten people injured. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was also announced for those who provided information about the accused.

The NIA had also assured that the identity of the informers would not be disclosed. Officials have also released the picture of the suspect obtained from the CCTV footage of the cafe.
