Prithviraj has announced his first production venture along with Sony Pictures International Productions and the movie, which will be directed by 100 Days of Love filmmaker Jenuse Mohamed, has been titled 9.
Two years ago, in an interview Jenuse had told us that he was working on a movie with Prithviraj in the lead, and one that also has two more heroines. On the genre of the movie, he had said, “This is mostly a science fiction. It’s a new kind of film in Malayalam. It’s also a horror-thriller.” Both Nitya Menen and Parvathy were discussions for the parts of the female protagonists.
Rumours are rife that the current film will have Prithviraj playing a scientist. However, when we got in touch with the director, he said, “I am not at liberty to reveal any detail at this point of time.” We hear that the movie will go on floors soon in Thiruvananthapuram and will also have a schedule in Himachal Pradesh.
Prithviraj, meanwhile, in his social media post has mentioned, “From the creative heads at Sony, to Supriya, me and every single crew member you see in the credits, came on board for how new we thought the film and it’s premise was. Soon, we will also introduce you to the cast..and why we think this is a genuine first of its kind for Malayalam cinema (sic).”
