Jammu: Pakistani troops continued ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. They indulged in ceasefire violations thrice yesterday and resorted to indiscriminate firing in Poonch and Rajouri sectors. Defence spokesperson Col RK Palta said, firing and mortar shelling by Pakistani troops continued till late last night in Balakote area.
Yesterday, the first incident occurred around 7 AM when Pakistani troops fired at forward posts in Poonch sector. The firing was carried out with small and automatic weapons. Indian troops guarding the border line retaliated strongly, triggering exchanges which continued till 7:40 AM.
In the second breach, Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts along the LoC in Balakote around 8:10 PM. Indian side retaliated effectively.
In the third such incident, Pakistani troops fired mortar shells at the Indian post in Tarkundi area in Rajouri sector late last night. Police said, one child was injured in the incident at Chiti Dakri.
