‘Only one man getting crucified for all wrongs in industry’; Mohanlal responds to media

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “I don’t have answers for everything. Let us hope this will herald a new change in the industry.” Said actor Mohanlal ahead of the launch of the Kerala Cricket League in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.

Mohanlal:

“Many said that Mohanlal was absconding from the controversy. But in reality, I was not in Kerala. I had to be with my wife for her surgery and then went busy with post-production work for ‘Barroz’. Please don’t try to destroy the industry. The current controversy is even being discussed internationally in many online news portals. This will adversely affect the film industry.

More than ten thousand people rely on cinema for a living. Their life will come to a standstill if the industry sees a downfall. The Malayalam industry didn’t happen overnight but was built after years of hard work and perseverance. We don’t want to see it going down into pieces. It will be very difficult.

We need such committees in all sectors. The law should be applied equally.

I still don’t know how we turned into strangers for all of you, just at the turn of a night. Unfortunately, I am being forced to respond on this issue. Everyone in the cinema should come and speak out. But just one person is being crucified. Anything and everything is blamed on AMMA. We resigned after taking legal advice. People who think it was unwise to resign can come forward and take up the reins after a proper election.
