THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One in the state has symptoms of monkey pox, said Health Minister Veena George. This person has been hospitalized. The samples have been sent to Pune Institute of Virology, the minister said.

The person who came from UAE has the symptoms. He is under special observation. He has fever, body pain and symptoms similar to smallpox. This person has contact only with people at home.

The results will be obtained by evening and only after that it can be confirmed whether it is monkey pox or not. The disease spreads from person to person. The death rate is low and there is no need to worry, the minister said.
