No evidence to prove allegation that ADM Naveen Babu took bribe; probe report handed over to CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation report says that there is no evidence to substantiate the allegation that ADM Naveen Babu took a bribe. The investigation report of the Joint Commissioner of Land Revenue was handed over to the Chief Minister. Collector Arun K Vijayan’s statement had said that ADM Naveen Babu had told him that he had made a mistake. This is also mentioned in the report. However, the contents of the report do not mention the purpose for which this was said. The chief secretary had also examined the report earlier.

Meanwhile, former Kannur district panchayat president PP Divya, who was arrested in connection with the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu and is in jail, was remanded in police custody for a day by the court. Though the police had filed a two-day custody application, the Kannur Judicial First Class Magistrate Court granted her custody only till 5 pm today. Divya was asked to be produced before the court at 5 pm.

Though Divya was questioned by the police on the day of her arrest, there is no clarity on many things. Divya is being questioned again today to clarify these matters. While being brought out of the court, the media sought a response but Divya refused to respond.
