No clear evidence against accused in conspiracy case, says HC; dismisses claims of prosecution

Kochi: Details of the court order granting anticipatory bail to Dileep and other accused in the conspiracy case have been released. In the bail order, the high court observed that there was no clear evidence against Dileep. Further, the court also said that not presenting a phone cannot be viewed as non-cooperative on the part of the actor.

The high court pointed out that there is no clear evidence of a criminal conspiracy against the accused in the case.

The High Court also observed that public outcry and criticisms were made by those who did not have a clear vision of the court proceedings. The High Court also opined that such criticism should not be levelled against the court on the basis of half-truth.

The High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Dileep and others in the conspiracy case. The court also tabled certain conditions such as submitting passports, two sureties of Rs 1 lakh, not influencing witnesses and cooperating with the investigation.

The High Court said that if the accused violated the bail conditions, the prosecution could approach the court for an arrest.
