No 18 POCSO case; Hotel owner Roy Vayalat surrenders, search for Saiju continues

KOCHI: Roy Vayalat, the main accused in hotel No 18 POCSO case, surrendered before the police on Sunday. He surrendered at the office of the Kochi police commissioner. The Supreme Court had on Friday rejected his anticipatory bail plea. The police had registered a case against him for harassing a minor girl physically during a DJ party. A complaint by her mother from Kozhikode said that he harassed her forcibly.

There were complaints against Roy’s friends Saiju Thankachan and Anjali. The court had granted anticipatory bail for Anjali. The incident happened in October. The other accused had recorded the abused clippings on their mobile phones. They had threatened to circulate the video on social media if lodged a complaint with the police.
