Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, who is in New Delhi along with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, said that the new KPCC president will be appointed soon.

Chennithala said he had requested party president Sonia Gandhi to make the announcement as soon as possible. The Home Minister and CM had met Sonia Gandhi to convey that long-standing party issues in Kerala had been solved. They also met AICC Secretary Mukul Vasnik.

G Karthikeyan and VM Sudheeran are the favourites while others such as Vayalar Ravi are also said to be under consideration for the position of KPCC President.
