Murder in Pala College: Abhishek slit Nithina’s throat after beating her up, reveals police

Pala: Abhishek who murdered his classmate Nithina at St Thomas College in Pala used a paper cutter to slit the girl’s throat, revealed Kottayam SP D Shipa. The SP said that further details, including the motive behind the crime, would be released after questioning the accused.

However, it is still unclear if the accused was involved in a relationship with the girl. Abhishek was arrested and handed over to the police by those who were present at the time of the murder. The SP said the accused was being questioned in detail to reveal more information about the incident.

The accused and the girl engaged in a brawl at the campus on Friday morning. The young man was seen beating the girl, grabbing her neck and pushing her down. When college staff tried to intervene, Abhishek attacked the girl with a sharp object.

Jose, a security guard at the college, said he only saw blood seeping from the wound. “The girl was barely alive and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. But she died after arriving at the hospital,” Jose added.

22-year-old Nithina, who was pursuing a course in food technology, was killed when she appeared for the exam at the St. Thomas College in Pala on Friday.
