THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have arrested two persons, including a priest, in connection with the incident where a murder case accused was hacked to death at a lodge in Thiruvananthapuram. The arrested persons are Deepak Lal from Manikanteswaram and Arun G Rajeev from Vattiyoorkavu.
Vazhayila native Vishnu aka Manichan was murdered on Wednesday night. The accused committed the crime using a hammer. Harikumar, who was with Vishnu, has been admitted to the hospital following severe injuries. Police said that the accused had a feud with Vishnu. Deepak and Arun were part of Manichan’s gang. They left the gang four years ago.
It was Harikumar who booked a room in the lodge. According to Rural SP Divya Gopinath, Vishnu and his friends used to drink alcohol in the lodge. They got drunk last night as well. It is learnt that a dispute over a song led to the murder.
