“We all say that we have a beautifully written constitution, the most important aspect of the country. However, I would say the constitution is written in such a way that it is used to rob people. Indians adopted a constitution as per the direction of British” he said in a meeting held on Monday.

The values of democracy and secularism are briefly mentioned in the constitution and their only purpose is to exploit the commoners, he said.

“India is a country that does not even accept workers’ protests. The reason for that is the Indian Constitution. This is a constitution that condones labour exploitation. The reason why Ambani and Adani have grown in the country is because of the protection given to them by the Indian Constitution. How many people can protest against them?” he asked.

“The court and parliament are with the corporates. People like the Modi government take decisions and act in favour of the capitalists is proof to show that the constitution is with them,” he said.

“The workers cannot ask for fair wages. Even if they go to court, the decision will be in favour of the capitalists. Today, those who are in power are in charge because the government favours them. Further, the labour laws are not upheld because of the implementation of these constitutional laws. Eight hours of work and eight hours of rest are gone,” he said.

“Trade unions are blamed for any problem in the country. If you go to the court to question delay in payment of wages, the court will question the strike,” he added.
