The MIG Cricket Club in suburban Bandra will pay a tribute to batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar by naming their pavilion, including the dressing room, after him. MIG Cricket Club secretary Ashish Patankar informed this to reporters on Thursday.
Patankar said the pavilion would be inaugurated by the maestro after conclusion of the Test series against the West Indies and the event will be open to the public. The club would paint its front wall with Sachin’s 24-foot tall portrait.
Tendulkar, who is set to retire after the India-West Indies second Test at the Wankhede Stadium which would also mark his 200th game, had practiced often at this ground during his formative years.
