Superstar Aamir Khan might have worked with some successful directors in the industry, but says it is his cousin Mansoor Khan whom he considers the finest filmmaker in India.
The actor’s acting debut in 1988 was with Mansoor’s ‘Qayamat se Qayamat Tak’ and later worked with him in ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander and ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’. Mansoor’s last directorial venture was in 2000 with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Josh’ and past 10-12 years has been working on his debut book – The Third Curve.
“I have grown up with Mansoor. He is one of the finest filmmakers I think India has seen. His retirement is a huge loss to the industry. “I am still hoping that he will come back,” said Aamir who was in the capital to launch his cousin’s book.
“He has been quietly working on something for 10 years and never told me. Finally sometime back he told me about this book. And it is a pleasure to launch this book,” he added. The 47-year-old “3 Idiots” star says that Mansoor has been a great influence in his life and hopes he comes back to directing.
