Chennai: A Malayali couple, infected with Covid and who were found in an unconscious state inside their house in Chennai, died. The deceased were identified as Palakkad Kollenkode native K Raveendran, 60, and his wife Vandana, 52. They stayed at Nesapakkam. Raveendran is former PRO of a private university in Chennai and his wife Vandana works as additional vice-principal at a private school in K K Nagar.
The childless couple was staying alone and they were ill for about a week. When their relatives used to enquire about their health through phone, they complained only of minor health issues.
Since the couple was not found outside their house for a few days the neighbours enquired. They found them unconscious inside their house and both were rushed to the Kilpauk Medical College hospital. Raveendran passed away enroute to hospital and his wife Vandana breathed her last amidst her treatment.
They were tested for Covid and found to be positive. Their relatives have reached Chennai and the last rites would be held on Sunday morning abiding to Covid protocol.
