Liberation struggle will not repeat; protestors invite police action: Kodiyeri

Malappuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Tuesday reiterated his stand on anti-SilverLine protests and said that “even if somebody infiltrates into the protests, their objectives will not materialize.”Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was addressing media persons here.

He also clarified his recalling of the liberation struggle of 1957. “Last day also I said that liberation struggle will not happen. According to NSS general secretary, they are neither for nor against the protests,” he said.

Kodiyeri said the protests at the collectorate and the secretariat invite police action. “The protestors yesterday barged into the collectorate and the secretariat. That is a kind of protest that invite police action. However, the police abstained from taking extreme steps. The government is not for a war with the people,” he clarified.

He also mocked the protestors and reiterated that the stone lying for the survey will happen at any cost. “There is a sufficient number of survey stones. If not from Kerala, we will bring it from other states,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kodiyeri assured that the government will acquire the land only after the settlement of compensation.
