KOTTAYAM: Strong protests were witnessed today also against laying of stones for SilverLine Project. The natives and striking panel stopped the officials who came to lay the stones again at Kuzhiyanippady in Kottayam. The K Rail officials and the tahasilar who reached with stones had examined the place in the morning.

The protestors and the natives gathered in the place soon after that. A large contingent of police has been deployed in the area considering the tense situation. The natives had stopped the officials who came to lay the stones earlier.Meantime, the police have registered a case against 105 people for stopping the officials from laying stones at Nattassery in Kottayam. The protestors have planned to stop them from laying the stones today also.

A day and night strike is being held at Chottanikkara in Ernakulam. In Thiruvananthapuram, BJP workers marched to Cliff House with the stones removed.
