Jagan Reddy resigns as MP over AP split; his mother quits Assembly

Newdelhi: In Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress President and Kadapa Lok Sabha MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy has resigned as Member of Parliament alleging that the Congress sought to divide the state unilaterally.

Jaganmohan Reddy, who is presently in a Hyderabad Jail in connection with disproportionate assets case, has sent his resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker through the jail authorities.

Jaganmohan Reddy’s mother and honorary President of the party Vijayamma also tendered her resignation from the State Assembly.

Earlier, 16 MLAs and Lok Sabha MP Rajmohan Reddy tendered their resignations protesting against the manner in which the Congress is dealing with the bifurcation issue.

Talking to media persons, he made it clear that division should be done in a justified manner.
