KASARGOD: An intelligence report said there has been a lapse from the private hospital where Anjusree first sought treatment in the case of her death due to food poisoning. The report said the hospital authorities did not inform the health department about the food poisoning despite treating twice.
Anjusree suffered from physical discomfort after consuming food brought online from the hotel on December 31. She was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital and given first aid and discharged. However, after feeling physical discomfort again, she visited the same hospital the next day. Despite the symptoms of food poisoning, the hospital authorities did not inform the health department. Anjusree was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru after this and she died there.
Anjusree’s internal organs will be sent to a forensic lab for chemical analysis as it is not possible to get samples of the food consumed. Once the test results are obtained, more information related to food poisoning will be available. In the preliminary report given by the district medical officer, it was found that Anjusree had an infection in her body. The report also said that her internal organs have been decayed.
