The Indian squad for the upcoming 2-match Test series against the West Indies has been announced. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have made a comeback, while Suresh Raina has been dropped, with Ravinder Jadeja rested due to a shoulder strain.
Courtesy an impeccable performance in the ongoing series against the Aussies, the wonder opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma has got the nod to join the Indian squad which will meet the Caribbean for the 2-Test series, the final two games of cricket genius Sachin Tendulkar.
The surprise, however, was that paceman Zaheer Khan failed to make it to the team, along with spinner Harbhajan Singh. Ishant Sharma retained his place, with bowlers Shami Ahmed and Umesh Yadav as the other inclusions. Spinner Amit Mishra is in for injured Jadeja. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and frontline spinners R. Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha have been retained. It will be interesting who all will make the middle order, as Team India will be without the services of stalwarts Yuvraj Singh and Raina.
The first test will be in Kolkata from the 6th of November, while the second Test at Mumbai, which will be Tendulkar’s last, will begin from November 14th. The Test series will be followed by 3 ODIs, the squad for which will be announced later.
