Summit talks between India and Russia begun this afternoon. The Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his opening remarks that India is Russia`s strategic partner and both are having cooperation in different areas, including in military and technical areas.

While welcoming the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at Great Kremlin Palace, Mr Putin said that most of mutual targets have been achieved. He said at present both the countries have a joint counter terrorism mechanism and they have also having cooperation in political areas. The President added that both the countries are working together at different international fora including the UN and BRICS.
