Kozhikode: Water entered into the Kozhikode Medical College building as heavy rains pounded the city on Wednesday night. The IMCH ward (Institute of Maternal and Child Health) was inundated following the downpour. Employees stated that water had entered the building for the first time in fifty years. The ground floor of the IMCH was totally inundated. Children in certain wards were shifted after the incident.Rain water entered into the ICUs of the gynaecology and paediatric departments, wards, lifts and also the observation room.
Later on, the water was pumped out using three motor pumpsets. The staff at the hospital were engaged in cleaning work all night.
