Kochi: The govt argued in the High Court that actress Shalu Menon, who is lodged in Attakulangara jail in connection with the solar case, should not be granted bail.

However, the govt reiterated its earlier stand of granting bail to Tenny Joppan, former PA to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

The govt said that further probe is needed to find the cheated money. Granting bail to Shalu could affect the probe, the govt claimed.

However, Advocate General KP Dandapani argued that Tenny Joppan, could be given conditional bail. The court postponed the hearing of the bail pleas of Shalu Menon and Tenny Joppan.
