Five soldiers killed in Ladakh tank accident during river crossing exercise

LADAKH: Five soldiers have died in a tank accident. The accident occurred during a special exercise crossing a river near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. It is reported that among the martyred soldiers was a junior commissioned officer.

The accident happened around 1 am in Mandir Mor, 148 km from Ladakh. The T-72 tank was involved in the accident. Rescue operations are underway at the scene. Officials said the cause of the accident was lightning.
