THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A father stabbed his daughter’s male friend to death mistaking him as a thief. The victim has been identified as Aneesh George (19), a native of Pettah. The incident happened Wednesday early morning at Chayakudy Lane in Pettah at 3.30 am. The accused identified as Lalu reached the Pettah police station and surrendered. He told police that he stabbed Aneesh mistaking him as a thief.

Lalu told police that he woke up hearing a noise and mistaking him as a thief attacked him. After stabbing him, he went straight to the police station and surrendered.

He told police that youth has sustained stab injuries and asked them to take him to the hospital. The police reached his house and rushed him to the hospital. By then, he had lost his life. The body is kept in the mortuary of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
