Dubai: Arabian Business, a weekly Dubai-based magazine, published a list of influential Indians in the Gulf Cooperation Council. LULU Group chairman and Abu Dhabi chamber vice chairman MA Yusuff Ali topped the list. Choithram Group chairman LT Pagarani and Islamic Bank chief executive officer Adnan Chilwan bagged the second and third rank in the list. LULU Financial holdings MD Adeeb Ahamed, Standing Chartered Bank CEO Sunil Kaushal, Ghassan Aboud Group CEO Suresh Vaidyanathan, Burjeel Holdings chairman Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, and Emami Group director Prasanth Goenka were listed in the top 10 Influential Indians in Gulf countries.

CHALAKUDY: The district medical officer (DMO) has ordered the closure of Silver Storm Water Theme Park in Athirappilly. The health department directed the closure of swimming pools after seeing symptoms of fever among the students who participated in water activities in the park.

Symptoms like fever and eyes red in colour were seen on students from schools in Ernakulam and Thrissur. Most of the symptoms were reported more in students who were part of a pleasure trip from the school in Panangad, Ernakulam. It is hinted that more than 25 students of the same age have sought treatment. The students visited the part in February last. The students arrived from Panangad in five buses.

The health department started an inquiry about the visit of students and tourists from other districts. The school authorities also informed the health department that the students of Vettilapara Notre Dame School who visited the park also showed symptoms of fever. The closure was ordered after an expert medical team from the district inspected the park.

Rat fever was confirmed on the students who bathed in the park. Health Minister Veena George directed to close the park temporarily based on the report of an inspection conducted.
