CPM delegates criticise Kerala CM’s style, allege ‘big shot’ enjoys free entry to his kitchen

Thiruvananthapuram: The discontentment regarding the dismal performance of CPM in the general elections and the resultant rage of district committees continue as party delegates of Thiruvananthapuram lashed out against the leadership, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. During the heated discussions held in the district committee meeting held on Monday, it was pointed out that a ‘big shot’ in Thiruvananthapuram has free entry even into the kitchen of the Chief Minister’s house.

The delegates had criticised that many ‘prominent persons’ of Thiruvananthapuram are frequent visitors to the house of chief minister and other ministers. The style of Chief Minister came under heavy fire as the delegates termed it as ‘anti-people’. Common workers and public are not allowed entry in Chief Minister’s Office. Why should CM build an iron curtain between him and the party workers, the delegates asked.

Criticisms were levelled against PWD Minister Muhammad Riyas also as delegates had said that his reaction towards senior leader and former minister Kadakampally Surendran over the delay in the construction of smart city roads in Thiruvananthapuram was unnecessary and untimely. The style of functioning of Health Minister Veena George too was not spared as some delegates have even doubted whether she is a CPM Minister.

The row between Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran and KSRTC driver Yadhu was also being discussed in the meeting as the delegates had said that the ‘road show’ of the mayor and her family was nothing but ‘goondaism’. The district committee members had lashed out against the mayor saying that had the memory card been retrieved, the party would have got trapped in that case. Mayor and her husband Sachin Devl MLA had acted impulsively and without maturity expected from party leaders holding responsible offices, delegates said.
