Covid crisis: It’s time to remain in ‘self-lockdown’, says CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the current situation demands people to remain in a self-lockdown.

The government thinks a lockdown is unnecessary despite the Covid surge in the state, because we trust the civic sense of the public. The government is suggesting the concept of self-lockdown. People should wear masks, clean hands and keep social distancing, he added.

The public should decide to avoid going out unnecessarily and crowding. Also they should decide to postpone celebrations, avoid travelling and interaction at closed spaces and strictly follow isolation if they came in contact with Covid patient, the CM said.

We have to make sure that our lives and the lives around us are safe. This should not be compromised at any cost. We have to decide that we are in a self-lockdown and go forward, the CM reminded.
