Cold morning in Delhi, air quality remains ‘very poor’

New Delhi, Delhiites woke up to a cold Wednesday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 7.9 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average.

The relative humidity was 92 per cent at 8.30 am.

There was a shallow fog in the morning and the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 22 degrees Celsius. The weatherman has forecast a thunderstorm with hail for Thursday.

The air quality in the national capital bordered the “severe levels” on Wednesday morning and remained in the “very poor” category for the eighth consecutive day.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the city was recorded at 399 at 8.41 am.

The city recorded a high of 22.8 degrees Celsius and a low of 7.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
