Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will host a Christmas feast at KTDC Mascot hotel on Tuesday. According to reports, the CM didn’t invite governor Arif Mohammed Khan to the feast which will be held at 2.30 pm on Tuesday.
Earlier, the governor had invited the CM and other ministers to his Christmas feast at Raj Bhavan on December 14. But they turned down the invitation amid the scuffle with the governor over issues including the appointment of vice-chancellors.
Usually, Chief Ministers will not invite governors to their party. Pinarayi Vijayan hadn’t invited the governor for an Iftar party during the last Ramzan. But former Kerala governor justice P Sathasivam had attended the parties hosted by the CM.
It is learnt that the governor is not invited to the parties for avoiding issues related to the protocol and security arrangements. CM’s office also cited this reason in its explanation. But the matter made headlines amid the scuffle between the governor and government.
