CI Sudheer transferred to police headquarters, will not end strike unless he is suspended, says congress

ALUVA: Aluva East circle inspector Sudheer has been transferred to the police headquarters in connection with the suicide of a woman following domestic abuse. Mofiya Parveen’s suicide note requested action against the circle inspector who misbehaved with her. Mofiya’s father said the officer behaved very badly and he insulted him in the police station and this is also one of the reasons for her suicide. Opposition groups, including the Youth Congress and the Muslim League, staged a protest in front of the Aluva CI office for the failure in taking action against the officer despite filing a case against her husband and family.

Meantime, the congress leaders said they will not end the strike unless the circle inspector is suspended. The protest led by Anwar Sadath MLA and Benny Behnan are still continuing in front of the Aluva police station.

Despite reports yesterday that the officer had been removed from station duties, the officer was present on duty this morning. Following that, a massive protest led by the Congress was staged in front of the Aluva CI office.

In the meanwhile, Youth Congress activists blocked DIG’s vehicle which reached the office of the circle inspector. The activists removed the antenna of the vehicle. Congress, Youth Congress and Muslim League activists are protesting in the yard of the police station and outside the gate. Mahila Morcha activists are also protesting in Aluva.
