SRINAGAR: Chinese-made guns were used by the Pakistani terrorists who were killed in the encounter in Uri sector near the Line of Control, said the Indian Army. The army killed three terrorists during anti-infiltration operation. Two AK series guns, a Chinese M-16 weapon and explosives were recovered from the Pakistani terrorists.
The Indian Army clarified that although US-made M-4 rifles and others are usually found, this is the first time that Chinese-made weapons have been recovered from Pakistani terrorists. Apart from this, a Pak-made bag, four cigarette packs, 11 apples and dry fruits were also found from the spot.
The army sources have informed that there will be further investigation into the incident. The terrorists who tried to infiltrate were killed by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Following this, Home Minister Amit Shah assessed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He directed the security forces to intensify surveillance along the Line of Control. Amit Shah also pointed out that police and army should work together to prevent terrorism.
